
Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes
Ingredients

5 russet potatoes, cleaned & sliced

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

½ cup onions, chopped

3 tablespoons All-Purpose flour

1 tablespoon seasoning salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 cups whole milk

2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt butter in a large skillet; add onions and cook until tender.

Whisk in flour, salt and pepper; pour in milk all at once; stir until thick and bubbly.

Add 1 cup of cheese to the sauce; stir until cheese melts. Remove skillet from heat and set aside.

Place ½ sliced potatoes in a greased casserole dish. Pour ½ of the cheese sauce on the potato slices; repeat layers until all of the potato slices and cheese sauce are gone.

Cover casserole dish with foil and bake 45 minutes.

Remove foil and continue baking another 30 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender.

Remove from oven; sprinkle remaining cheese over top of potato dish. Let stand for 5 minutes.
