Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.  Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.  (Easy tip: use PAM to grease baking dish)

  2. In small saucepan, melt margarine/butter; pour in granulated sugar and brown sugar; stir until well mixed.  Remove sugar-butter mixture from stove and pour into a large bowl to cool completely.

  3. Add eggs, one at a time; stir until mixed well.  Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; stir until mixed thoroughly.

  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the dry ingredients; pour in the flour mixture, a little at a time, and stir batter until dry ingredients are mixed well.  (The batter will thicken).

  5. Pour in remaining vanilla extract; stir well.  Pour in pecans and morsels; stir to combine.

  6. Spread batter into pan.  Smooth until batter is even over the pan.

  7. Bake 35-40 minutes until golden brown.  Remove the pan from oven and let cool on a wire rack.  Cut into squares.
