Chili Cheese Fries

Ingredients

Chili Fries:

  • 2 pound bag of crinkle cut fries (thaw fries before cooking)

  • 3 quarts canola oil

  • 2 teaspoon seasoning salt

  • PAM spray

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef

  • Two 1-ounce package of taco seasoning mix (mild)

  • 1 ½ cup water

Topping:

  • 1 large tomato, chopped

  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated

  • 4 green onions, chopped

  • 8 ounces sour cream

Directions

  1. Pour oil in a deep fryer or a large stockpot; heat to 350 degrees.

  2. Cook fries in hot oil, a little at a time, 8-10 minutes until golden brown.   Drain on paper towel and sprinkle seasoning on fries.  Cook remaining fries.

  3. Spray PAM in a large skillet; cook ground beef until done; drain and return skillet to stove.

  4. Add taco mix and water to beef; stir to mix well.  Bring to a boil, simmer and cook 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

  5. Remove from stove and set aside

  6.  Serve some fries on a plate; add beef mixture.  Sprinkle cheese on top of fries; let cheese melt.

  7. Add tomatoes, green onions and top with sour cream.
