
Sausage & Pepper Hoagies
Ingredients

One 5-pack Italian sausage (medium)

¼ cup water
-
1 green bell pepper, seeded & sliced

1 red bell pepper, seeded & sliced

1 medium onion, sliced
-
4 tablespoons butter
-
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

5 hoagie rolls

Directions

In a large skillet, add the sausages and water to the skillet; pierce both sides of the links to cook evenly.

Cook on medium-low temperature, covered, for 15 minutes, until the sausages are done.

Remove lid and raise temperature to medium-high.

Continue cooking sausages until the liquid dissolves, turning frequently, should be another 8-10 minutes.

Remove links from skillet; add butter and let it melt.

Add onions, bell peppers and pepper flakes to the skillet; stir to mix well. Cook for 5-7 minutes.

Place the sausages back in the skillet. Reduce the temperature to low and cook until vegetables are tender.

Place sausage on hoagie roll; add spoonful of onions and peppers on top.
