
Cheeseburger Pie
Ingredients

one 9-inch pie shell (deep dish)

1 pack taco seasoning

1 pound ground beef
-
16 ounces cheddar cheese, grated

16 ounces mozzarella cheese, grated

1 medium onion, chopped
-
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced

1 small green bell pepper, chopped

2 tablespoons butter
-
1 teaspoon seasoning salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375º.

Brown the piecrust in the oven for 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Remove from oven and let cool.

Cook the ground beef in a large skillet until done; drain on paper towels and let cool.

Add the taco seasoning to the beef mixture and stir.

In separate skillet, cook onions, bell peppers and half of the mushrooms in butter; save the rest of mushrooms to go on top of pie.

Add the vegetable mixture to the ground beef; mix well. Layer pie shell with beef mixture, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella.

Repeat layers. (Reserve ¼ of both cheeses) Top with remaining mushrooms and cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Variations: chili seasoning can be substituted for the taco seasoning.
