Simple Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened    

  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ¾ cups sugar        

  • 2¾ cups All -Purpose flour, sifted

  • 3 egg yolks

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375°. 

  2. Beat butter, sugar, vanilla and egg yolks in mixing bowl.  Blend in flour gradually; mix well. 

  3. Roll dough into log; chill 2 hours. 

  4. Cut ½-inch thick and cook on un-greased cookie sheet for 12 minutes or until brown. 

  5. Transfer to wire rack to cool. 

Optional:

place a pecan half on each cookie
