Easy Baked Beans

Ingredients

  • 2-32 ounces canned baked beans*

  • 4 slices bacon, chopped                         

  • 1/4 cup small sweet onion, diced

  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper, diced

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed               

  • 2 tablespoons honey   

  • 2 tablespoon yellow mustard         

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 small jalapeño pepper, diced (optional)**

NOTE:

*Preference: Bush’s Baked Beans

**For a little spice, add jalapeño pepper to pot instead of the green bell pepper.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.  Spray a baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. Fry bacon in pot until almost done; add the onions and bell peppers; cook until vegetables are tender. 

  3. Pour beans in pot, stir and cook 10 minutes on medium until bubbly. 

  4. Add the remaining ingredients; cook another 5 minutes longer.  Pour beans into the baking dish. 

  5. Bake 40 minutes, uncovered until beans thickens.

  6. Remove from oven and let cool.
