
Chocolate Chunk Walnut Cookie
Ingredients

one package of devil’s food cake mix

8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

¼ cup light brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup walnuts, chopped

1 cup semi-sweet morsels, chopped

Directions

Place rack in center of oven and preheat to 350°; set aside two un-greased cookie sheets.

Place cake mix, butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla in large mixing bowl.

Blend with mixer on low speed for 1 minute. The dough will be smooth and thick. Fold in the chocolate morsels until well distributed.

Drop heaping teaspoonful of dough 2 inches apart on un-greased cookie sheets. Sprinkle a little walnuts on top of each cookie.

Bake cookies until set but are still a little soft in the center and walnuts have toasted, 10-12 minutes.

Remove the pans from the oven. Let cookies rest on cookie sheets for 2 minutes.

Using a metal spatula, transfer cookies to wire rack and allow to cool completely, 20 minutes. Repeat with remaining cookie dough.
