Meaty Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef

  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage (medium)

  • 2- 28 ounces RAGU Mushroom Pasta Sauce

  • 1 ½ tablespoons dried sweet basil

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ cup water, if needed

  • 1  pound lasagna noodles

  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 3 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350º.   Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions; drain and let cool. 

  2. Cook the ground beef and sausage in 2 separate skillets until done; drain them on separate paper towels.   

  3. In a large pot, combine both jars of pasta sauce, seasonings (except Italian seasoning) and the ground beef and sausage; bring to a boil.  

  4. Reduce temperature and cook, covered, on medium-low for 30 minutes.   If sauce is too thick, add water.

  5. Combine all three cheeses in a large bowl; stir in the Italian seasoning.   

  6. Layer noodles on the bottom of 9x13 baking dish.  Spoon 1/3 of the meat sauce on noodles; sprinkle 1/3 cheese mixture on top of sauce. 

  7. Repeat layers 2 more times, ending with the cheese on top.

  8. Bake, uncovered for 1 hour until done.
